Company transfer
Robertus Laan is handing over Jungfrau Tours to Luca Seematter. The company’s values and quality remain unchanged.
For 17 years, Robertus Laan has dedicated himself to Jungfrau Tours as its owner and managing director. With his love of the mountains and as a rail enthusiast, he has found a dream job that is a world away from a ‘normal’ workplace. With guest requirements constantly evolving, the work remains varied and challenging. Each trip is shaped by different countries and cultures.
The tourism industry always reacts quickly and strongly to external factors. It has successfully weathered the challenging years that followed. During these times, Jungfrau Tours has proven itself to be a reliable partner. After seeing zero turnover during the pandemic, Switzerland has become an extremely popular holiday destination and the company is thriving.
Our priority is to provide a perfect trip offering a unique Swiss experience for customers from abroad. Our speciality is rail travel. We have excellent contacts and in-depth knowledge of mountain railways, public transport and the tourism infrastructure.
The retirement of Robertus Laan and his colleague Heidi Griffith is coming closer. From this autumn, both will gradually be reducing their working hours. Over the past 25 years, Heidi Griffith has witnessed all three generations of Jungfrau Tours. With her many years of experience and her knowledge of Switzerland and neighbouring countries, she has always supported the company whenever we have been faced with challenging enquiries and needed to find the best solution for the customer. No problem is unsolvable, that is her motto.
In Luca Seematter, a young tourism professional, we have found the new owner. Everything will continue as normal until October. Luca Seematter will take over the management from Robertus Laan in the end of October. Robertus’s in-depth knowledge of designing exciting and eventful trips, as well as their organisation and execution, will be passed on to ensure that everything continues to run smoothly. He will be on hand to offer the new team advice and support for some time to come. An additional colleague will join us at the end of the year. Discussions are already underway.
With the acquisition of the company, Luca Seematter has taken over the entire business, including the staff and their expertise, the customer base, contracts and infrastructure. All customers, partners and service providers can continue to rely on Jungfrau Tours. Customer needs remain our top priority.

Who is Luca Seematter?
He grew up in the Jungfrau region and lives in Interlaken. He has been working for Jungfrau Railways for 10 years. In his current role as Sales Manager, he represents Jungfrau Railways worldwide. As a result, he understands the needs of customers and partners from a variety of markets and cultures.
He has a degree in tourism. He has also completed a degree in business administration. In 2022, he reached the final of the Swiss Entrepreneurship Championship.
He intends to uphold the values of Jungfrau Tours. The company will adapt to changing times and make good use of new technologies. The ultimate goal is to ensure guest satisfaction and treat partners and service providers fairly. Personalised service and a close relationship with customers will remain a priority.
In his spare time, Luca also enjoys being outdoors, whether camping in the mountains or going on adventure trips. In short, he has strong regional roots, an entrepreneurial spirit and a decade’s experience in international rail tourism.
Statement Robertus Laan
“After 17 years, it was a matter close to my heart to find the perfect person at an early stage – someone with whom the chemistry and trust were right from day one. I’m very happy with how things have turned out.”
Statement Luca Seematter
“For me, the personal, social and emotional aspects take priority. I therefore look forward to building personal relationships with customers, key players and industry colleagues. We have a wonderful ‘bubble’ in the tourism sector, something we can be proud of.”
What is the road for the future?
It is important the transition to be as smooth and orderly as possible for all our customers and partners. Existing agreements and ongoing business will be handed over properly. We will not be making any major changes to the company at any level.
The current team will carry on as usual. Your main point of contact will remain the same until we provide further updates.
Luca will carefully continue with the existing arrangements and develop the company in small steps. He is already available for contacting from now on.
