Basically yes. On the booked panoramic trains you will lose your seat reservation, however, the train ticket remains valid.

All package tours are without a tour guide (except the Glacier Pullman Express packages). We provide a very detailed travel programme, which will guide you through each day of the tour.

No, but most hotels are on very short walking distance from the station. Some hotels offer a free transfer from/to the nearest station. If this is the case, it will be mentioned in the itinerary.

No, we do not offer this. Please check with your own insurance agent.

• E-Tickets/Vouchers: Will be sent to you approx. 4 weeks prior to your arrival day by email.
• Printed tickets/Vouchers: The travel documents will be sent to the Swiss airport of arrival so that you can collect them at the SBB Travel Centre. They can also be sent to your first overnight hotel in Switzerland.
• Upon request we can send them to you your home address by TNT service for an extra charge. The costs vary depending on the country, but are at least CHF 80.00.

• Hotel vouchers: New vouchers can be issued by Jungfrau Tours
• Printed train tickets: Lost tickets must be reissued by Jungfrau Tours AG and you will be charged.
• E-Tickets can be reprinted.

Especially when the trip has been booked a long time in advance, we can offer a partial payment of a deposit of 30 % upon final booking and payment of the balance up to 60 days before arrival. Contact us if this occurs.

Our special Swiss Card (your travel document) allows you to obtain tickets for almost all trains, mountain trains, cable cars, boats and local busses with 50 % reduction throughout Switzerland during your stay. Just present the Swiss Card at the ticket counter and the personnel will grant you the discount. 

Your itinerary is prepared by us so we know where you are located during your trip. In case a problem occurs, which we do not hope for, you can contact us right here in Switzerland on our emergency telephone number. Because of our close proximity we can quickly help you in case of any problem.

In case of special weather conditions, which might stop public transportation from running, we might know this in advance and contact you before you are leaving the hotel for the day and provide a solution.

• Meals: Swiss cuisine is varied and includes a wide variety of dishes, so prices vary accordingly. Lunch menus are cheaper with CHF 25 to CHF 30 than dinner. In the evening you pay between CHF 30 and CHF 60 for a main course “a la carte”.

• Beverages (mean value): CHF 5.50 mineral water 3 dl | CHF 4.50 coffee/tea | CHF 7.00 1 dl wine | CHF 5.50 beer 3 dl

• Tipping: As in most European countries no gratuity is needed to add to the bill. However, if the service was very good, one can add a small amount of “Trinkgeld”. On average rounding up with a few Francs is more than sufficient and certainly not mandatory since the gratuities are included in the prices. Example: The food bill says CHF 67.50 so you can round up to CHF 70 and your waiter or waitress will thank you for this extra gratuity.

It can be drunk from any tap without any health risk. Moreover, tap water in Switzerland has a much better ecological balance sheet than bottled mineral water. In most cases, especially in the mountain resorts, the quality is even higher than bottled water!

Switzerland has 4 official languages: German, French, Italian and Rhaeto-Romanic. A vast majority speaks English as well.

The Swiss Franc is the only official currency in Switzerland. The Euro is accepted in many places but certainly not everywhere. Change will be given in Swiss Francs.

Coins: One hundredth of a Swiss Francs is called a Rappen (German), centime (French) or centesimo (Italian).

Credit cards and debit cards are widely accepted, so there is no need to have large amounts of cash at hand. You can pay larger amounts by card and take along some cash for smaller payments and places that do not accept cards.

Swiss Francs can be obtained from ATM’s. They are available in all towns, and you usually find them at the post office, rail station and shopping center. In general this is the cheapest way to obtain cash. Your bank can provide exact fees. To save time upon arrival, it can be handy to purchase some Swiss Francs before you depart.

Your bank may charge fees for both cash withdrawal through ATM’s and credit/debit card payments.

• The voltage is 220 – 240 V
• There are 2-pin and 3-pin wall outlets (only Swiss plugs fit!)
• In most cases you do need an adapter to connect your equipment
• Swiss outlets supply the European standard voltage of 220-240 V AC – 50 Hz. If your equipment does not support this voltage, you need an adapter that converts the voltage.

The weather in Switzerland, and particularly in the mountains, can change quickly. This can even happen multiple times within a day. Weather forecasts more than 3 days in advance are mostly not reliable. You can consult www.meteoblue.com.

The climate is moderate with no excessive heat, cold or humidity. Depending on the altitude the temperature range may vary. It is highly recommended to visitors to pack a sweater, good walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a compact umbrella and/or a light raincoat.
